PROPHET, PRIEST, KING  - SPRING 2012 SERIES

The 3 roles of Prophet, Priest, and King have significant roles and challenges for each and every man.  As a Prophet, we have a calling to be saturated in the scripture, and when asked, be able to give sound wisdom from the things we have learned through the Word of God. As a Priest, we follow the example Christ left by working and serving those we love. This type of service may demand us to sacrifice some things, but we are called to give joyfully nonetheless. Lastly, Christ was the King. In our world we must use this position to fight the good fight and use Christ as our rock to establish peace in the places we have influence.

Most people know the role of the congressional offices especially in a presidential election year. Pastor Phil Ward will be teaching on the offices/roles of Christ and the impact it has on the lives of men. 

_WHAT DOES GOD EXPECT FROM A MAN?  - WINTER 2012 SERIES
January 14 / February 11 / March 10

As men, each day we are met with EXPECTATIONS that the world puts on us. They are expectations to perform and to conform. Often, we allow these expectations to mold and shape who we are!  These expectations can be burdensome and are not of God’s design.

The Bible is very clear about what God expects of us – especially as men. Those expectations are to “Seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8).

For our next three-month series, we have the privilege of having Brian Sharp as our key note speaker. Brian is well known in the Brentwood community and surrounding areas as a local businessman, but to us he is also a fellow worshipper at Golden Hills Community Church. Through the years he has lived out his servant’s heart in many ways.

Brian will be sharing some strategic truths of God’s expectations for men that have been instrumental in his life. As we work to maintain the balance of career, family and faith, we are often overwhelmed with the pressures we face. Don’t miss this series at our men’s breakfasts this Winter.

Spiritual Warfare is no simple thing, and Christian men — as leaders of our families and leaders in the community — are always on the front lines.

LIVE FREE (Jan 8):
Understanding our freedom in Christ can help remove the common barriers that exist between man and God, and free us to seek a real relationship with a real God. 

FEAR GOD (Feb 12):
Scripture says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Come find out how our exercise of wisdom is directly based on a correct understanding of God's power -- and how "fearing God" can help us become wise in all our ways.

HONOR THE KING (March 12):
Living a life that honors God is an intriguing possibility. Find out how your everyday words and actions can bring honor to our Creator and what that means in a practical sense.

3rd Quarter 2010: PURITY with Matt Pierce

Recovery Pastor, Matt Pierce, brought us a powerful series on living a pure life with an emphasis on sexual purity.

First, he made it clear that we all struggle with this issue to some degree.  It’s not simply limited to those guys who had an affair or are addicted to pornography and we have to accept that before we can deal with it. We also need to understand that these behaviors need to stop, but they are only symptoms of a deeper issue. We need to face the pain of resolving whatever that issue is, with God’s help, before we will truly change.
